You probably haven’t heard of her – yet, but Maayan Nidam’s (who also goes under the names of Miss Fitz, Laverne Radix and Spunky Brewster) second album New Moon releases 21st of May 2012 promising a diverse range of electronic beats fusing elements of breakbeat, Jazz, electro and even a touch of French House on the Cadenza label. The three teasers so far released do indeed hint at variety, and there’s a very strong European feel to the tracks. This is the true underground of dance music that takes some getting used to but much like other commercial-less sounds the deeper you delve the more treasure you find and once you’ve adapted your ears you find yourself immersed in a sound you never would have thought existed.

It’s not going to be for those who like their dance music tracks to be “bangers”, but we eagerly anticipate Maayan Nidam’s offerings to see just how close to the level of quality we’ve been seeing from artists such as Ghosting Season she can get.

But this track is much slower than anything Planet Perfecto ever put out, and as a result it’s not… View Article

February 24, 2013

BT is a legend of Trance production, Nadia Ali is a legend of Trance vocals. Any team up between these two is bound to be good, but when you throw in relative newcomer but excellent producer Arty into the mix as well, are we witnessing collaborative genius or are too many cooks spoiling the broth?… View Article

Kirsty – Hands High (Afrojack Radio Edit)

February 23, 2013

Who is Kirsty? We don’t know either, but this looks like her attempt to crack the commercial dance scene and she’s enlisted the help of Afrojack who provides remix duties. Apparently Sander Van Doorn said “supporting!” and David Guetta said “huge!” Although we’d question how much thought they gave to their answers when questioned. The… View Article
