Hot on the circuit right now, Chicago Born Lee Foss, a now London and Los Angeles based DJ & one half of duo label ‘Hot Natured’ with Jamie Jones, is making a big name for himself solo in his soulful, hazy beats; releasing hits on labels such as NO 19, Culprit and Wolf + Lamb.
Foss & his fellow collective family of producers are rapidly mellowing this slightly more ambient and slower take on the future of this minimalist approach and are ‘currently re-writing the rule book of how to make evocative and emotive house music’. From playing Fabric in London to DC10 in Ibiza, Foss is quickly becoming a well recognised face within the nu-school house and Minimal Techno scene.
Said to be inspired from 80′s electro to 90′s hip hop; hailing from his all- American Chicago roots, his break through was ‘Grinding’ on Wolf + Lamb which catapulted him into the storm of lighter sounds. Other hit releases include The Edge EP’ ‘Equilibrium’, and ‘U Got Me’, which has a catchy and playful vocal which I’ve had on constant repeat since the summer months. Focusing on an up & coming album with Jamie Jones for Hot Natured, along with his own projects, Foss is also aiming to tour globally in 2012 as fully formed live act, playing those lighter beats to our little ears.
