In a sea of New Years Eve parties and the excitement of the countdown to the year it’s sometimes easy to forget that New Years Day is fast becoming one of the biggest party days in the capital.  And no one champions this motto more so than Nofitstate  whose annual New Years Day celebration is one of the most-talked about parties of the season. This year looks set to be another sell-out with a stellar lineup, including German producer, musical tastemaker and master of ‘deep’, Move D, Nofitstate resident and mulletover favourite, Geddes and the newly announced Julio Bashmore.

What better way to kick off the New Year than with one of the most exciting talents to break through this year – Julio Bashmore. In such a short space of time Julio has really made a mark on the scene with his appropriately titled ep ‘Everybody Needs an Anthem’ giving the world the larger than life ‘Battle for Middle You’ – a track that crossed the often fragmented dance music boundaries and which hailed the dawning of a true talent.

The much-lauded David Moufang, or Move D as he is better known, will be making a welcome return to the capital for New Years Day. Moufang’s impressive discography cites a string of successful releases on Warp, Compost, Uzuri, Workshop, Modern Love, liebe*detail and Running Back. Always a favourite amongst London’s clubland, his groove-laden DJ sets are full of warmth, personality and sincerity and never fail to get the crowd moving – the perfect vibe for a New Years Day.
Nofitstate’s head honcho Geddes will also be stepping up to keep things moving well into the early hours of Sunday morning. 2011 has been another booming year for the London-based DJ with a busy schedule of releases on his label Murmur, including the Nofitstate LP release, not to mention performances across the globe in New York, Paris, Germany, Ibiza and Croatia along with numerous festival shows.
So, say your goodbyes to 2011 and prepare to move onwards and upwards into 2012 as the clock hits 6pm on New Years Day and Nofitstate welcomes in the New Year as only they know how. With more names still to be announced and tickets already selling fast, we advise getting in there early – advance tickets available from Resident Advisor.

HIIO Feat. Terri B! – Something About You

February 28, 2013

South American duo HIIO (pronounced H2O) have arrived in 2013 with their attempt at creating a classic house tune. There’s definitely some classic house vibes here in the synths, the Planet Perfecto influence is pretty obvious. But this track is much slower than anything Planet Perfecto ever put out, and as a result it’s not… View Article

Arty, Nadia Ali & BT – Must Be The Love (Official Music Video)

February 24, 2013

BT is a legend of Trance production, Nadia Ali is a legend of Trance vocals. Any team up between these two is bound to be good, but when you throw in relative newcomer but excellent producer Arty into the mix as well, are we witnessing collaborative genius or are too many cooks spoiling the broth?… View Article

Kirsty – Hands High (Afrojack Radio Edit)

February 23, 2013

Who is Kirsty? We don’t know either, but this looks like her attempt to crack the commercial dance scene and she’s enlisted the help of Afrojack who provides remix duties. Apparently Sander Van Doorn said “supporting!” and David Guetta said “huge!” Although we’d question how much thought they gave to their answers when questioned. The… View Article
