Calvin Harris’ welcomes Burns and his first release on Fly Eye, ‘Iced Out’.
Burns has been tipped by the likes of the NME, The Guardian, The Times, Mixmag, DJ mag, and many more. Recently signed to Deconstruction by Calvin (who’s joined the Sony imprint as A&R), Burns quickly acquired notoriety via several releases on 2112, a collaboration with Fred Falke (‘You Stopped Loving Me’), the compilation ‘European Sex Music’, and remixes for Kasabian, Dizzee Rascal, Gossip, Missy Elliot, Hurts, White Lies and many more. He’s also just finished adding his touches to Tinchy Stryder’s new single.
‘Iced Out’ is Burns’ next release for 2011 following ‘Midknight/Skeezer’ and his track on Kelis’ new album. Resplendent with building synths, staccato chords and the kind of production flourishes he’s become known for, ‘Iced Out’ is a dancefloor taster ahead of further releases later this year and features a remix from Calvin himself.
‘Iced Out’ follows Fly Eye’s 2011 releases which include Massimo Massivi’s ‘Hands Up’, Calvin’s ‘Awooga’ and ‘Bodywork’ by Bart B More & Tommie Sunshine.
Burns and Arveene’s new night, ESM, hooks up with BBM Me for a Halloween bash at Hoxton Pony, Islington on 29 October.
Calvin Harris has so far achieved seven Top 10 singles in his career, including two #1 singles with ‘I’m Not Alone’ and ‘Dance Wiv Me’ (with Dizzee Rascal) and over 1.5 million tracks and 500,000 albums sold in the UK. ‘Bounce’ has already kicked off 2011 with a bang and ‘Feel So Close’ recently went Top 5.
Since his last album, Calvin has been touring the world, DJ’ing everywhere from Las Vegas to Ibiza to Australia. He also played The Big Chill, headlining the Revellers Stage, and is set to appear at Creamfields on the Club Life Stage and the Swedish House Mafia Tent. His DJ residencies across the globe include Las Vegas and Ibiza, and he’ll join Rihanna on her UK and European tour this autumn.
