In the first of five interviews with the DJs of the upcoming Toolroom Knights Ministry of Sound NYE night, we discuss D.Ramirez’s resolutions and plans for 2011. Come back tomorrow for Jaguar Skills.

Where in the world are you right now?

I am currently on a plane waiting for my flight to leave for Toronto where i’m doing a mini North American tour.

Which track has been the highlight of your sets this year?

A track by Pitto – ‘Feelin’ (District one remix) – Rejected

Where can we find you playing this New Years Eve?

I’m doing 2 gigs both for Toolroom – the first in Loughborough for a secret party the second doing the main room at The Ministry Of Sound – Wooohoooo!

New Years Eve always gives a DJ the chance to drop some tracks they do not usually get the chance to play, what can we expect to hear from you at Toolroom Knights?

Good question – NYE is a special night so i don’t just play my usual set, i throw in some oldies as well as some classics. People are out to have a memorable night and it’s my job to make sure that happens (in theory of course)

What have you got planned for 2011 (gigs / album / releases)?

I am currently working on a D.Ramirez and friends album for Toolroom which should be coming out in March next year. Also i’m working on a secret project in LA for Jan and Feb which promises to be something special – watch this space.

What New Years resolution will you be making?

The same i make every year – Stop smoking, drinking and go to the gym!

HIIO Feat. Terri B! – Something About You

February 28, 2013

South American duo HIIO (pronounced H2O) have arrived in 2013 with their attempt at creating a classic house tune. There’s definitely some classic house vibes here in the synths, the Planet Perfecto influence is pretty obvious. But this track is much slower than anything Planet Perfecto ever put out, and as a result it’s not… View Article

Arty, Nadia Ali & BT – Must Be The Love (Official Music Video)

February 24, 2013

BT is a legend of Trance production, Nadia Ali is a legend of Trance vocals. Any team up between these two is bound to be good, but when you throw in relative newcomer but excellent producer Arty into the mix as well, are we witnessing collaborative genius or are too many cooks spoiling the broth?… View Article

Kirsty – Hands High (Afrojack Radio Edit)

February 23, 2013

Who is Kirsty? We don’t know either, but this looks like her attempt to crack the commercial dance scene and she’s enlisted the help of Afrojack who provides remix duties. Apparently Sander Van Doorn said “supporting!” and David Guetta said “huge!” Although we’d question how much thought they gave to their answers when questioned. The… View Article
