Why the redesign?

We have stayed the same since February 2010. Whilst our old design was loved by many, there were also big drawbacks.

  • Slow loading times. Our old website used a lot of Javascript and code which slowed the site down. This new website uses very few images and the code is very light, ensuring swift loading for all. Performance is vastly better.
  • Poor accessibility. A dark website might look good – but some people complained it was difficult to read. The old site had a layout that also did not really work well for us, few people were able to find content effectively.
  • We just felt like it! We wanted a change and a fresh start.

How do I use the new site?

Much the same as before. You can login using the same details as you always have. You can still use the site with your Facebook account. If you do this, you don’t even need to login as if you are already logged in to Facebook then you’ll also be logged in to Maxumi.

I’m worried about logging in with my Facebook account

We understand why some people might be a bit apprehensive about using their Facebook account to login. But don’t worry, whilst you are typing your details in on our site, the login is actually handled on Facebook itself. Your email/password do not pass through our servers. So using Facebook to login is 100% secure.

Where’s the forum gone?

It turns out the forum was tripling our server load. Considering almost nobody was using it, we felt it only sensible to pull the plug. The site now works much better as a result.

If you feel our website should have a forum, please contact us. We will of course consider it if there is the demand.

I’ve found a problem with the new site

Naturally, whenever a new website is launched there are teething problems. For example, not all posts will show up correctly and some of the formatting will be skewiff. We’re working around the clock to modify all our content to fit in with the new design. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you find an issue with the site.

Who’s that girl at the top of the page?

The delectable Tamara Sky, one of our favourite Girl-DJ’s. Read her¬†interview¬†here.

HIIO Feat. Terri B! – Something About You

February 28, 2013

South American duo HIIO (pronounced H2O) have arrived in 2013 with their attempt at creating a classic house tune. There’s definitely some classic house vibes here in the synths, the Planet Perfecto influence is pretty obvious. But this track is much slower than anything Planet Perfecto ever put out, and as a result it’s not… View Article

Arty, Nadia Ali & BT – Must Be The Love (Official Music Video)

February 24, 2013

BT is a legend of Trance production, Nadia Ali is a legend of Trance vocals. Any team up between these two is bound to be good, but when you throw in relative newcomer but excellent producer Arty into the mix as well, are we witnessing collaborative genius or are too many cooks spoiling the broth?… View Article

Kirsty – Hands High (Afrojack Radio Edit)

February 23, 2013

Who is Kirsty? We don’t know either, but this looks like her attempt to crack the commercial dance scene and she’s enlisted the help of Afrojack who provides remix duties. Apparently Sander Van Doorn said “supporting!” and David Guetta said “huge!” Although we’d question how much thought they gave to their answers when questioned. The… View Article
