Above & Beyond at Brixton Academy on Saturday 30th October represents Jono, Paavo and Tony’s biggest UK show yet and their final London date of 2010. Featuring a three-hour set from Above & Beyond themselves, the show also represents the biggest collection of talent from A&B’s Anjunabeats roster ever to appear in the capital. Joining Above & Beyond will be Anjunadeep’s Jaytech, the prodigious Mat Zo and 80s-inspired electronic house act Michael Cassette.

Above & Beyond’s warm-up DJ of choice, the ever-reliable Jaytech was responsible for the first ever artist LP on Anjunadeep with 2008’s ‘Everything Is OK’. Having remixed BT’s classic ‘Flaming June’ and mixed the acclaimed Anjunadeep 03 compilation alongside James Grant, the Berlin-living Australian has also spent 6 weeks at the top of Beatport’s progressive chart this year with ‘Milano’, his collaboration with Boom Jinx. Now putting the finishing touches to his second artist album, Jaytech’s groove-fuelled sound will be the perfect musical bridge to Above & Beyond’s headline set on the night.

Mat Zo is one of the most exciting big room talents to break through the ranks of late, the prodigious North Londoner has been responsible for classics such as ‘Synapse Dynamics’, ‘Lucky Strike’ and recent smash ‘Near The End’ and is a regular in the CD wallets of the world’s biggest DJs. Recently invited to remix Kylie Minogue, he is also surely the only artist to top the Beatport charts in two entirely separate genres at the same time, thanks to his storming drum & bass output for Hospital Records as MRSA.

Completing the main room line-up is Michael Cassette. A star performer on Anjunadeep, Michael Cassette is behind the classic 80s-sparkled groover ‘Shadow’s Movement’, as well as countless other Anunadeep classics, and is now preparing to release a long awaited debut artist album in November. Flying over from Finland especially, Michael Cassette will be opening the main room with a live set of their bright, 80’s inspired and Balearic-tinged electronic house – a sound which has found fans among disco blogs, electro DJs and the core Anjunabeats faithful alike.

Above & Beyond & Gareth Emery pres. OceanLab ‘On A Good Day (Metropolis)’ out 31 October

HIIO Feat. Terri B! – Something About You

February 28, 2013

South American duo HIIO (pronounced H2O) have arrived in 2013 with their attempt at creating a classic house tune. There’s definitely some classic house vibes here in the synths, the Planet Perfecto influence is pretty obvious. But this track is much slower than anything Planet Perfecto ever put out, and as a result it’s not… View Article

Arty, Nadia Ali & BT – Must Be The Love (Official Music Video)

February 24, 2013

BT is a legend of Trance production, Nadia Ali is a legend of Trance vocals. Any team up between these two is bound to be good, but when you throw in relative newcomer but excellent producer Arty into the mix as well, are we witnessing collaborative genius or are too many cooks spoiling the broth?… View Article

Kirsty – Hands High (Afrojack Radio Edit)

February 23, 2013

Who is Kirsty? We don’t know either, but this looks like her attempt to crack the commercial dance scene and she’s enlisted the help of Afrojack who provides remix duties. Apparently Sander Van Doorn said “supporting!” and David Guetta said “huge!” Although we’d question how much thought they gave to their answers when questioned. The… View Article
