Tune of the Week – Freemasons – Believer (Summer Of Pride Mix)

Brighton boys Freemasons team up with Wynter Gordon for this Summer house smash Believer. The vocals are sweet and sound eerily similar to Leona Lewis, though we could just be very tired and imagining things….the production anyway is the usual high standard we’ve come to expect from Freemasons, and this is a track that has the perfect vibes to get you in the mood for the weekend.

Gareth Emery announces debut album Northern Lights

Ok, so one of our contributors once had a dig at Emery over his God-like bio, but God or not, Emery is is a rising star in dance music and one of Trance’s finest producers. Gareth Emery has his production sound locked, and while the popularity surrounding him has reached explosive proportions over the last year, the young Brit has been composing his debut full length album; “Northern Lights”. Between his extraordinary tour duties this comes across as a seemingly remarkable achievement. … Continue reading

Moonbeam – “Song For A Girl”

Proving once again, as we featured before, that not only is their music breathtaking but their videos are extraordinary and of the highest quality, Moonbeam are back, this time with singer Blackfeel White in tow. The production of both music and video is exquisite, the dousing of White in a glass of water by a scantily clad girl synchronized perfectly with the clash of a cymbal. The quality of the video is incredible, the colours are vivid and gorgeous, and just like before the video contains some very adult themes, this time torture and BDSM.

Adding vocals is definitely a risk for any producer, and the wrong vocalist can do horrific damage to a track. White certainly does damage, in the climax of the video (watch it and see) but throughout the track his vocals are perfectly weighted, and the words sprawl effortlessly out of your speakers, adding the aurora the track already provides.

Yet again, Moonbeam are showing the EDM world that they are a serious, but fun act who produce soft, funky atmospheric numbers of the the absolute highest class, whilst at the same time nudging aside any sense of pretentiousness whatsoever.
