The nostalgically-minded Belgian remix maestros who brought us disco-fied versions of Friendly Fires’ “Paris“, Lindstrøm and Christabelle’s “Baby Can’t Stop“ and, erm, Robbie Williams’ “Bodies”, are due to follow up their debut single proper, the ironically-titled “We Can’t Fly” with “Superstar”.
Featuring Chromeo, the tune recalls the tight-trousered prog rock of the 1970s, with the jolliest use of vocoders this side of “Mr. Blue Sky” (and just as sunny).
It’s been getting the blogosphere a little hot and bothered since Pete Tong declared it Essential New Tune some weeks back, and as of Friday a preview has finally been posted on youtube (as it will keep reminding you during play).
The single drops on Eskimo Recordings on 13th September.
