TWR72 – Tunnel/Schizophrenia (Instant Replay)

The enigmatic Dutch duo exhibit their mastery of the minimal, creating an absolute monster formed of a few (skilfully selected) elements.

TWR72 (The Walk and Rogerseventytwo in singular form), having snuck under the radar since their genesis in 2004 with a clutch of remixes, prove they are a force to be reckoned with in their second bona fide release.

Following on from their meaty Shock EP and already championed by the likes of Laidback Luke and Erol Alkan, TWR72’s Tunnel/Schizophrenia is the latest cut from the up and coming Instant Replay label (follow the link for a free DJ mix – oh, we spoil you).

The first tune Tunnel is as claustrophobic as its title suggests, densely reverberating, but in the best possible way. A single metallic beat reverbs and bends upon itself into a noisy grinding hook, which gradually builds up to claxon-esque sonic proportions, fizzy hi-hats, and then sweet, sweet release. Warmed up? Good, there’s plenty more to come…

Tunnel will happily set up camp at the junction between the “catch-up drinks” and the “we mean business” phases of the night. About 2:13 am.

Resounding elegance.

Available to download from Juno on 18th August

There’s definitely some classic house vibes here in the synths, the Planet Perfecto influence is pretty obvious. But this track is much slower than anything Planet Perfecto ever put out, and as a result it’s not… View Article

Arty, Nadia Ali & BT – Must Be The Love (Official Music Video)

February 24, 2013

BT is a legend of Trance production, Nadia Ali is a legend of Trance vocals. Any team up between these two is bound to be good, but when you throw in relative newcomer but excellent producer Arty into the mix as well, are we witnessing collaborative genius or are too many cooks spoiling the broth?… View Article

Kirsty – Hands High (Afrojack Radio Edit)

February 23, 2013

Who is Kirsty? We don’t know either, but this looks like her attempt to crack the commercial dance scene and she’s enlisted the help of Afrojack who provides remix duties. Apparently Sander Van Doorn said “supporting!” and David Guetta said “huge!” Although we’d question how much thought they gave to their answers when questioned. The… View Article
