Melleefresh vs deadmau5 – Whispers

It’s utterly shameless. Deadmau5 is having a very quiet 2010, with only the Chris Lake collaboration “I Said” and his own “Chords” getting a release, so along comes At Play 3. Released in June, the compilation features an array of tracks that are not new, but in fact several years old, the tracks that didn’t cut it for Mau5 2/3 years ago. Some have even featured on previous albums. It’s difficult to judge whether this is a cheeky ripoff whilst he is struggling to create new material, or a genuine attempt to shed light on earlier releases over-shadowed by the likes of Faxing Berlin, The Reward is Cheese and Afterhours. One track worth a look is another Melleefresh collaboration Whispers. It’s funky, upbeat and keeps you interested without ever really reaching the charismatic heights of his better known tracks. Deadmau5 and Melleefresh fans will love it.

Deadmau5 update.
