The Normalites – The Sun Rising (Shur-I-Kan Vocal Mix)

60s girl

The 60s is a decade that fascinates me. Everybody knows about The Beatles and Quadrophenia, but what springs to my mind is long, glorious summer days, meadows, beautifully dressed girls and soulful music. No house fanatic can possibly get away with not remembering “The Sun Rising” and the fairly recent getting together again of Steve Miller of Afterlife and Chris Coco sees a a cracking new take on the Ibiza classic. I don’t know if I’m making up an imaginary link here, but there is definitely something 60′s-ish about Ibiza, the youthful nature of the place, the fashion, the music, the freedom. And that chilled out aurora, which Shur-I-Kans Vocal Mix captures emphatically. If you listen to this tune and can’t picture yourself sipping a Brahma on a beach there’s something seriously wrong with you. The single is out now in 7 different flavours and is set to be an instant revitalised classic. Soulful, soothing but at the same time enigmatic and energizing, The Sun Rising captures exactly that, that incredible moment when our great star peeks above the horizon casting its fresh glow upon the world.
