Anti-Social behaviour is the number one issue facing clubbers in Brighton, whilst 80% of those who took part would like to see a greater variety of music. 20% are calling for a Trance night. Some of the comments we got were:
“I think there should definitely be more larger clubs in brighton aswell as more varied nights such as hip hop nights. Also some should stay open abit longer, maybe till 5 or 6.”
“I want to see better DJs. Ive had enough of listening to just shitty pop and “retro”.”
There definitely was a time when Brighton attracted some of the worlds best talent. Even as recently as 2008, every single week was punctuated with talent. Just a quick look shows us that in the next three weeks we can look forward to Joey Negro at Digital, Timo Maas and Sebastien Leger. Certainly not bad acts, but unless you have a specific interest in one of them it’s not likely to get you pumped up in the same way that Deadmau5, Oakenfold, Carl Cox, Tiesto etc is likely to. Sure, Carl Cox is playing at Audio in the next couple of weeks, but it is a largely private affair with probably less than 100 tickets available to the public, and these were gone in a couple of hours.
