Spirito Martini Lounge – The Worlds Swankiest Church…

It’s nothing new, in fact in nearby Worthing (Maxumi is based in Brighton) a church was converted into a club years ago, and many venues adopt a church like theme. But you can’t help feel these places either outright disrespect Churches themselves or the décor is so cheap and tacky, it’s just plain awful. But not the Spirito Martini Lounge, Brussels, Belgium. This venue is simply a breathtaking club – humongous chandeliers that look as if they have been hijacked from a Palace, sumptuous wood-panelling and granite columns, Spirito Martini Lounge makes even the poshest of night-spots in the UK look like Dave’s Disco. You just cannot compare the sheer level of class, elegance and detail to anything you have seen before.
Some may see the conversion of a Church into a nightclub as sacrilege, but in reality it has saved a beautiful building from dilapidation or even destruction. And the sheer class and glory that stems from the stunning interior is enough to make even the most beautiful places of worship buckle at the knees with envy. Taj Mahal? What Taj Mahal?
