DJ Technology giant Pioneer has teamed up with www.letsmix.com to unleash Pioneer DJ Network, a social network specifically aimed at DJs. PDN will allow DJs and Producers to share tunes and ideas with other artists and music fans. PDN also offers the chance to win brand new Pioneer DJ equipment every month.
We’re not personally sure how this will take off. Most people are quite satisfied with Facebook and Twitter for their social needs, and platforms like Soundgraph and Fairtilizer already offer the ability to upload and share mixes. Of course, PDN does offer the chance to win equipment every month, but that’s the only real standout feature so it will be interesting to see how this goes.
We’d also like to clarify as to whether non-US members would be able to win the equipment. When Lets Mix ran their DJ competition, they would only agree to ship to US residents. This meant if you won and were outside the US, you’d have to arrange for a US citizen to take your prize and then ship it to you.
You can join PDN free at letsmix.com
