DJ Technology giant Pioneer has teamed up with to unleash Pioneer DJ Network, a social network specifically aimed at DJs. PDN will allow DJs and Producers to share tunes and ideas with other artists and music fans. PDN also offers the chance to win brand new Pioneer DJ equipment every month.

We’re not personally sure how this will take off. Most people are quite satisfied with Facebook and Twitter for their social needs, and platforms like Soundgraph and Fairtilizer already offer the ability to upload and share mixes. Of course, PDN does offer the chance to win equipment every month, but that’s the only real standout feature so it will be interesting to see how this goes.

We’d also like to clarify as to whether non-US members would be able to win the equipment. When Lets Mix ran their DJ competition, they would only agree to ship to US residents. This meant if you won and were outside the US, you’d have to arrange for a US citizen to take your prize and then ship it to you.

But this track is much slower than anything Planet Perfecto ever put out, and as a result it’s not… View Article

February 24, 2013

BT is a legend of Trance production, Nadia Ali is a legend of Trance vocals. Any team up between these two is bound to be good, but when you throw in relative newcomer but excellent producer Arty into the mix as well, are we witnessing collaborative genius or are too many cooks spoiling the broth?… View Article

Kirsty – Hands High (Afrojack Radio Edit)

February 23, 2013

Who is Kirsty? We don’t know either, but this looks like her attempt to crack the commercial dance scene and she’s enlisted the help of Afrojack who provides remix duties. Apparently Sander Van Doorn said “supporting!” and David Guetta said “huge!” Although we’d question how much thought they gave to their answers when questioned. The… View Article
